Organic is the highest standard of production there is, demanding a lower stocking density in the henhouse, smaller flocks and more room to range the pasture than any other welfare codes. The birds are fed an organically produced feed and any medication given to them is of herbal origin. |

The RSPCA Freedom Food logo, means the birds are regularly inspected by the RSPCA to qualify for this assurance, which deals with the welfare of the hen.
The birds here regularly impress the inspectorate with a much better than usual feather cover and expansive ranging habits. |

The Lion code logo, Another food assurance scheme, but aimed at the egg rather than the hen. Hens are monitored for Salmonella infection, and vaccinated against it, to ensure healthy eggs for the customer.
Again, regular inspections to ensure compliance with the code. |
